European Conference
Web.Net
Milano - 20 October 2012
This is the first European Conference dedicated only to the future of web development on .NET (and with a bit of comparison to see what the other technologies are doing).
Every month brings its share of excitement in web development. The web development of future will move away from all the enterprisey features that used to rule the world of development in the past years, and will go to a more light-weight and simple approach.
The web development of the future will be based on three pillars:
In this conference we want to show the foundations of the pillars: so if you want to know more about advanced JavaScript libraries, light-weight http servers and frameworks, .NET CMSes, Cloud, block the 20 October in your agenda.
There will be 5 tracks (JavaScript, .NET server-side frameworks, non .NET server-side frameworks, CMSes, Cloud) for a total of 19 talks of 1 hour, and when the conference closes the hackathon will start: you'll be able to sit with other like-minded people and build something cool with these technologies.
The registration to the Web.NET Conference is NOW open. The places are limited, so only the first will be able to register to the conference, the others will be put in a wait-list and will be notified when a new place become available.
All places are already gone. Already 153 registered and 33 people are already in waitlist. But you can still register: we'll put you in a waitlist and we'll inform you when seats become available.
The conference is free to attend, but donations to help cover the costs, both of the organization and of the speakers, are more than welcome. There is also the possibility to have lunch inside the conference center: it will be pizza and sushi for 11€.
If you didn't give a donation during registration, you want to donate again, or you are not attending but want to donate anyway, you can use the following button.
During the registration you'll also be asked if you want to take part in the Hackathon, which will take place in the same venue after the conference is over, at around 19:00: there'll be around 60-70 seats available for the hackathon, and also here, first come, first served. During the hackathon we'll arrange for having pizza delivered to us: as for the lunch you have to opt-in and pay a small fee, around 10€.

The agenda has been choosen via a public call for speakers that ran during the month of July: we received 45 proposals submitted by 30 international speakers. During the month of August then these proposals have been voted by the public.
Once the conference is over, the rooms will be rearranged to let around 60-70 people to stay there till midnight and write some cool stuff with the technologies explained during the day, and against some 3rd party API, like the GeekList API and others.
We'll have pizza delivered and soft drinks, and maybe some energy drinks to keep you coding.
The Web.NET Conference will take place Saturday 20 October 2012 in Milano from 9:00 to 18:00, and following with the hackathon from 19:00 to midnight.
The conference will take place in the offices of Avanade Italy, at 5 minutes walk distance from Milano Central Railway Station and Centrale F.S. Subway Station.
